Benny McCalip "Mac" May received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, cum laude, from Mississippi College in 1997, where he was a National Merit Scholar. He received his Juris Doctorate from the Mississippi College School of Law in 2000, where he was a Hearin Hess Scholar and served on the Moot Court Board.
Following law school, Mr. May served as a law clerk to the Honorable Judge William H. Myers, Mississippi Court of Appeals.
Mr. May is admitted to practice before all state courts in Mississippi, the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Mississippi, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. His practice is primarily focused on transportation law, commercial trucking defense, insurance defense, professional errors and omissions defense, commercial litigation, appellate practice, employment law, and family law.
Mr. May is currently serving on the Bench-Bar Liaison Committee of the Mississippi Bar. He is also serving as the Speakers Chairman of the Jackson Young Lawyers. He has served as the Chairman of the Law School Relations Committee of the Mississippi Bar Young Lawyers Division, as Chairman of the Bench-Bar Liaison Committee of the Jackson Young Lawyers, and as Chairman of the Membership Committee of the Hinds County Bar Association.
